>2010 Griffin-Spalding County Eggs & Issues

>Citizens will be able to meet, greet and question their state representatives and senators on December 2 at 7:30 a.m. at “Eggs and Issues,” an annual forum sponsored by the Griffin-Spalding County Chamber of Commerce.

Bonnie Pfrogner said the chamber has sponsored this event for at least six years. “[Eggs and Issues] allows [citizens] to have interaction with elected officials and allows them to express any of their ideas and thoughts prior to the beginning of the legislative session,” said Pfrogner.
State Rep. John Yates, R-Griffin, state Rep. David Knight, R-Griffin, state Sen.-elect Rick Jeffares, R-Locust Grove, and outgoing state Sen. John Douglas, R-Social Circle, have confirmed their attendance. State Sen. Ronnie Chance, R-Tyrone, has not yet replied.

John Douglas said that though he would be in attendance, he doubts he will be speaking since he did not run for re-election. He anticipates the discussion to be much like last year’s, in which he participated: “I expect them to discuss what’s going to happen in the next session and the hot button topics like budget, transportation and education.”

The event costs $12 per person and reservations are required by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24. Pfrogner expects about 75 people to attend, and seats are filling quickly. For more information or to make reservations, call the Griffin Chamber of Commerce at 770.228.8200.
