>The Griffin/Spalding Chamber of Commerce is still accepting applications for their 48th Annual Christmas Parade to be held Sunday, December 5th, 2:30 p.m.
“The Sounds of Christmas” is this year’s theme. Participants are encouraged to select their favorite Christmas Carol and decorate their entry accordingly. All entries are required to have a decorated float, car or truck. Walking units are encouraged to dress in holiday attire. Judging will be held in the following categories:
Chamber’s Cup—Best Overall Presentation
Santa’s Choice—Best Representation of Parade Theme
Best Walking Group—Marching, dancing skating, etc.
Most Spirited—Group displaying the most Christmas Spirit
Best Vehicle—Best decorated vehicle
Most Original—Based on originality and uniqueness
The regular parade route on West Taylor Street will be used beginning at Chick-fil-A with units dispersing at 4th street in front of Taylor Street Middle School.
Applications are available at the Chamber of Commerce, located inside the Griffin Regional Welcome Center, 143 North Hill Street. Entry fee is $20 per unit. You may call the Chamber 770-228-8200 for further information.
