The city of Griffin and Spalding County have invited all public safety officers and the general public to a commemoration service on Sept. 9 in honor of the 10th anniversary of September 11, 2001.
“Spalding County and the city of Griffin cordially invite you to join us as we solemnly commemorate 10 years of American courage, strength and resilience, in honor of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001,” says the invitation.
The service will be held at The Park at Sixth at the corner of Sixth and Solomon on Friday, September 9 at 10 a.m. and should only last 30 minutes, say public officials.
