Free CPR class from Pike County Emergency Services

Pike County Emergency Services will be hosting a free Community CPR course at the Zebulon Opportunity Center on Saturday, July 13, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The class is free of charge. If you wish to have a card there is, however, a $6 fee.

Over 90 percent of cardiac arrest victims do not survive. We want to change that. Approximately 360,000 cardiac deaths occur outside the hospital each year in the United States, with about three quarters of them occurring in the home. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a simple skill that can help you save a life.

If more people know how to do CPR, more lives can be saved. CPR can make all the difference in the world to a loved one, friend, or coworker. Learn CPR and learn how you can help save a life.

No previous medical experience is required. There is also no age requirement, just the ability and willingness to understand simple instructions and skills.

If you would like to attend, please contact Battalion Chief Lance Blythe at 770-468-4269 or via e-mail at Class size is limited to 15 people.
