SHEILA A. MATHEWS :::
According to Spalding County Sheriff Wendell Beam, a law enforcement response witnessed by customers at Kroger Tuesday afternoon was not a serious incident.
“There was a dispute in the county and the person involved appears to have gone to Kroger to report it,” Beam said.
He explained that because the call was placed from a location within the city limits, the Griffin Police Department was first dispatched, but once it was determined the dispute occurred in the county, the Sheriff’s Office responded.
Although Beam did not have specifics on the incident, he did state, “It did not appear to be a life-threatening incident.”
