GPD arrests two on multiple felony fraud charges

The Griffin Police Department has arrested two local women after an investigation into a series of fraudulent financial card transactions.
Investigator Keith Dryden, who is assigned to fraud investigations, reports that 32-year-old Jessica Lynn Shepard and 22-year-old Demi Michelle Rodgers have both been arrested and charged with a total of nine felony counts each of financial transaction card fraud.
Authorities say the investigation revealed that both women were actively involved in the use of two different financial transaction card accounts from one local victim.
Dryden said a prompt response by the victim and the assistance of a local financial institution were instrumental in the apprehension of the suspects.
The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are pending.
The Griffin Police Department would again like to remind all citizens to consistently monitor their respective credit and debit card use, and to immediately report any discrepancies to their local financial institution and local law enforcement agency.
Anyone with questions concerning this case or any other issues with financial transaction card fraud may contact Dryden at 770-229-6452, Ext. 672, or at
