One person was wounded in a Tuesday night drive by aggravated assault that occurred in the Amberwood subdivision.
Spalding County Sheriff Wendell Beam said the victim reported he was shot as he walked down the street.
“A pedestrian was walking on the street in the Amberwood subdivision. He reported a car came by and someone from inside the car – he said he did not know who it was – fired several rounds from inside the car.”
The victim, who has not yet been identified, sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his hand. He was transported by ambulance to the emergency room of Spalding Regional Hospital for medical treatment.
According to Beam, five spent casings were recovered from the scene.
