SHEILA A. MATHEWS :::
The city of Griffin tonight received a $10,000 donation from the Waffle House Corporation that will be utilized to fund a portion of the costs associated with equipping GPD officers with body cameras.
The total purchase price will be $37,000, and the city Board of Commissioners on Tuesday unanimously approved the balance of that funding.
The Waffle House Corporation donation was made in memory of Officer Kevin Jordan, who was killed May 31 in the line of duty while attempting to execute an arrest at its northside location.
