Man shot in alleged attempted armed robbery


The Spalding County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an alleged attempted armed robbery that occurred Thursday night leaving one victim with multiple gunshot wounds.

According to Spalding County Sheriff Wendell Beam, deputies at 10:13 p.m. responded to an attempted armed robbery and person shot call at the Triangle Amoco Station at 3241 Jackson Road.

Deputies discovered a male employee on the floor inside the business. The employee stated he was locking the door to the business when someone in the parking lot fired multiple shots through the glass door.

The employee sustained three gunshot wounds to his upper body and was subsequently transported to the trauma unit of Atlanta Medical Center for treatment including surgery.

The identification of the victim is being withheld pending further notification of family members.
