STAFF REPORT :::
An active search is underway for a missing special needs Spalding County teenager last seen at approximately 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
The Spalding County Sheriff’s Office reports that Darrin Allen, a 14-year-old white male who is five feet nine inches tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds, was last seen wearing a blue jacket and blue jeans.
Allen is autistic and has Asperger’s Syndrome. He has very limited vision and left his glasses at his residence.
Investigators do not know Allen’s direction of travel.
Sheriff Darrel Dix reports deputies are in the area, and the SCSO is deploying a drone to assist in the search. However, Allen may be fearful of law enforcement officers.
Anyone who has information pertaining to this teenager’s location, or who makes contact with Allen is asked to please call 911.
