A Spalding High School student was arrested Wednesday for making an alleged threat against the school.
According to Griffin-Spalding County School System Digital Communication Specialist Laura Beaber, the student was overheard making statements concerning blowing up the school.
Spalding High parents received notification of the incident which stated, “Students alerted school administrators who immediately investigated the situation and informed law enforcement.”
The student was arrested and charged with making terroristic threats.
“Parents we encourage you to please talk with your students about the consequences of making these types of statements and the importance of reporting this type of behavior,” the letter to parents continued. “As always, student safety is our number one priority.”
