Two teens charged in numerous Griffin entering auto cases

After responding to a report of suspicious persons, officers of the Griffin Police Department’s Uniform Patrol Division on Sunday night arrested two individuals in the area of Tilney Avenue and 6th Street in connection to alleged entering auto cases.

According to a press release issued by the GPD, other officers in the area noticed personal items scattered on the sidewalks and in the street.

Officers made contact with the two suspects, who were on foot in the area.

Authorities say numerous automobiles had been broken into in that immediate area.

Following an investigation, the two suspects – Cornelius Taylor Jr. and Dwaine Holland, both 17-years-old and of Griffin – were arrested and charged with multiple counts of entering auto.

Officials say items recovered in this case will be processed and returned to their rightful owners. GPD officers contacted known victims during the initial investigation.

Residents of that area who were victims of entering auto incidents Sunday night are asked to contact the Griffin Police Department so officers may respond and process vehicles.

Victims may call the Spalding County E911 non-emergency line at 770.229.9911 or the GPD at 770.229.6450.
