Head on collision injures three

Three people were injured, at least one seriously, in a Tuesday evening head on collision in Pike County.

According to the office of Pike County Sheriff Jimmy Thomas, the incident occurred when Kaitland Harvey, a Thomaston resident, reportedly failed to yield the right of way when entering Highway 19.

Harvey, who was driving a BMW westbound on Highway 109 when she attempted to turn left to travel southbound on Highway 19.

Authorities say Harvey failed to yield the right of way to a Honda Odyssey that was travelling northbound on Highway 19.

The Odyssey, driven by John Seely, also of Thomaston, and Harvey’s BMW struck head on, resulting in injuries to three people.

Harvey was extricated from her vehicle by Pike County Emergency Services and was subsequently transported by air ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

Seely and his passenger, Brittney Seeley, were transported by ambulance.
