SHEILA A. MATHEWS :::
The victim killed in a Butts County shooting has been identified as 18-year-old William Trawick.
According to Maj. Jeff Nix, the incident occurred at a Brooks Road residence at approximately 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Three other individuals including one woman and two men were also shot.
Trawick, the female victim and one male victim had only recently moved from Griffin to the Jackson residence.
Authorities are not yet releasing the names of the surviving victims.
Sheriff Gary Long has said all four were approximately the same age.
Long previously said three people were home at the Brooks Road residence when another group arrived, and an altercation occurred.
The group that was visiting “pulled out some pistols and began firing,” Long said.
One of the wounded men was a member of the visiting group.
Investigators declined to say if any arrests have been made, stating only that the investigation is ongoing.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Butts County Sheriff’s Office with this case.
