STAFF REPORT :::
A 14-year-old boy was killed today when he was crushed by a vehicle in a Pike County business.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Office responded at 4:16 Friday afternoon to 14777 Highway 19 in response to a report of a person trapped under a vehicle.
Upon arrival, deputies located the 14-year-old boy with severe trauma underneath a vehicle.
Authorities say two other juveniles, ages 13 and 14, were inside the business, Middle Georgia Water Systems, along with the injured male.
The injured boy was transported by Emergency Medical Services personnel and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The two uninjured juveniles indicated they were inside the business working on vehicles, officials say.
However, investigators say the three juveniles committed a burglary to enter the premises.
The surviving 13- and 14-year-old suspects have been charged with burglary, criminal damage to property, entering auto and reckless conduct.
The PCSO says investigation is ongoing and further details will be released when possible.
