Jeremy Stratton named director of Griffin Economic Development Department


Jeremy Stratton has been selected as the director of the Griffin Economic Development Department.
Stratton previously served as the chief executive officer of the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce and has governmental experience with the cities of Danville, Va., and Aiken S.C.

In addition to serving as Economic Development director, Stratton will also assume the position of executive director of the Downtown Development Authority and the Main Street Program.

Stratton began his career in the field of economic development after pursuing a Master of Science in Planning from the University of Tennessee. He obtained a Bachelor of Economic from Central College.

“He has recruited and helped grow several large companies, most notably Murphy Oil in El Dorado, Arkansas, to bring major industry to the communities in which he was working. He has successfully implemented creative financing initiatives to kick-start new businesses as well,” said Griffin City Manager Jessica O’Connor. “I am confident that Jeremy’s vast experience and knowledge will allow us to fulfill one of the goals of the City of Griffin to promote economic development activities that increase citizen access to high quality jobs and also enhance the quality of life for all the citizens.”
