Griffin-Spalding County School System launches Educator Hall of Fame

Dr. Curtis Jones, Superintendent of the Griffin-Spalding County School System, today announced the creation of an Educator Hall of Fame.

He said, “Exemplary educators have been associated with the Griffin-Spalding County School System since its founding in 1953. Sixty years later the school system is honoring those who have gone beyond the call of duty during this time and made outstanding significant educational contributions to students, staff, parents and the community.”

Former Griffin-Spalding County School System employees who worked for a minimum of 10 years with the system are eligible to be nominated for the Hall of Fame.

Eligible persons should be retired or have resigned at least 5 years from the Griffin-Spalding County School System before being nominated.

Nomination forms will be available on line on the school system’s website, They are due August 1, 2013, for the first class of inductees.

An independent panel of out-of-town judges will select those inducted into the Hall of Fame.

The Educator Hall of Fame will be housed on the former Taylor Street Middle School campus in “D” Building.
