A check for that amount was presented to Anne Street principal Evelyn Jones by Lee Howell, advertising director for the Cronic Automotive Group, during brief ceremonies at the school this week.

“It is a pleasure to present these much-needed funds to Anne Street Elementary School on behalf of Wanda Cronic Howell, the dealer at Cronic Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, and all the employess there,” Howell said. “For as long as I remember, Cronic has been involved in supporting our public schools and I am proud to continue this tradition.”

Howell said that the “Drive For Kids” program was held in the school’s front parking lot and “gave parents, staff, and friends of the school the opportunity to test drive 2013 models, including the Chrysler Town and Country minivan.” He said that each test drive earned the school a contribution of $10 and that 112 people participated, including Griffin Spalding County School Superintendent Dr. Curtis Jones.

“We were happy this event was so successful and we were proud to be able to help one of our local schools raise funds,” Howell said. “Last year, we helped the staff at Orrs Elementary School raise money through this program and we are looking forward to working with another school next year.”

In addition to raising money for the local school, each participant was automatically registered in the 2013 Chrysler Sweepstakes for a chance to win a credit in the amount of $45,000 to be used toward the purchase of any eligible Chrysler Group vehicle, which include Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, and FIAT.

“Drive For Kids” is a national program, sponsored by the Chrysler Corporation and its network of dealers. Since its inception, the national program has generated $5 million for schools in cities and states across America.
