GSCS announce MVPs: Most Valuable Parents

Congratulations to Ms. Lillian Walker, Ms. Jamie McSwain, Ms. Heidi Clinton, Ms. Amy Brown, and Ms. Tabitha Hunsucker for being selected as Griffin- Spalding County School System’s Most Valuable Parents for the month of October.

These five parents were recently nominated and elected to be the new PTO board for Jackson Road Elementary. The group eagerly began recruiting volunteers and planning meetings, fundraisers, and activities. They are dedicated to helping make Jackson Road Elementary a better school for the students, parents, and teachers. The Griffin-Spalding County School System is grateful for their support and dedication to our school system.

The Griffin-Spalding County School System Most Valuable Parent (MVP) program began in 2011 to recognize parent volunteers who make outstanding contributions to our schools. To date the program has recognized almost 200 parents and has been successful in helping increase parent engagement.

Each month schools submit the names of parents or volunteers that have been exceptional volunteers. From the school-level nominees, a district-level MVP is selected.

The Griffin-Spalding County School System is proud to recognize the following school-level MVP’s for the month of October: Shondria Head & Florence Jones Jayne Mouchet, Jennifer Maddox & Jeff Boomer Kay Pullin Lillian Walker, Jamie McSwain, Heidi Clinton, Amy Brown, & Tabitha Hunsucker, Jeanette Francisco, Virginia Akins, Chrystal Badgett, Vonda Henley, Lutricia Clark, Amy Vandeklashort LaShandra Johnson, Rachel Bradberry,  Gayla Grubbs & Sharon Wesley.
