Shane Collett sentenced for murder of nine-year-old Skylar Dials

Shane Clifton Collett has been convicted on six charges including malice murder, two counts of felony murder, aggravated assault, first degree cruelty to children and concealing the death of another.

The jury deliberated approximately one hour before announcing a verdict had been reached.

Superior Court Judge Tommy Hankinson followed the sentencing request of District Attorney Scott Ballard, sentencing Collett to a term of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. He was sentenced to 10 years on charge six – concealing the death of another. That will be served concurrently with his life sentence.

  1. only in Spaulding county can someone go on trial for murder on Monday and be convicted and sentenced by Thursday. Spaulding county has always been a joke and will always show why. The people that are born and raised there know the truth and that’s why anyone with a brain gets out of there asap. And just for the record, how you charge and convict someone for 3 counts of murder for killing one person? Oh wait it is griffin.

  2. Now he can have plenty of time to think about what he did before his rotten self dies!!
