Sheriff: Three men arrested on felony entering auto charges

According to Spalding County Sheriff Wendell Beam, three individuals were arrested Wednesday and are facing felony charges of entering an automobile.

Those arrested include Chad Timothy Brown, age 19, of 12465 Highway 109 W. Meansville;  Derik Webster, age 18, of 32 Meadowlark Road, Griffin; and Nathaniel Kaide Jewan Johnson, age 18, of 1861 Carver Road, Griffin.

Bond was set at $5,703 for each of the three suspects. Brown and Johnson have bonded out, and Webster remains at the Spalding County Jail.

The arrests resulted from a joint effort of the SCSO and the Griffin Police Department, Beam said.

Deputies initially responded at approximately 4 a.m. Wednesday to a report of an entering auto incident on Laurel St. Upon arrival, they received information on a vehicle reportedly seen near the incident.

As a result of that information, the vehicle was located by GPD personnel and the arrests were made.

The GPD as well as the Pike County Sheriff’s Office are now conducting investigations of entering auto cases in their respective jurisdictions that authorities say may be related to these arrests.

“I want to thank the members of the Griffin Police Department Patrol Division who assisted in this investigation,” Beam said.
