The GRIP has confirmed that reports circulating that law enforcement agencies are currently seeking an active shooter on the Gordon State College campus in Barnesville are false.
According to Public Information Officer Tamara Boatwright, there has been no armed threat today.
“I understand there is concern from posts people have read on various sites, but at no time today was there a threat on campus,” Boatwright said. “We have a very strict protocol for our campus warning system, and we would have activated that if necessary, but there was absolutely no threat.”
