A 16-year-old juvenile has been arrested and charged in connection to a residential burglary on Andrews Road.
According to a press release issued by Spalding County Sheriff Darrell Dix, Deputy Steven Culberson and Deputy Maurice Gray on Jan. 2, responded to a report of a burglary in progress at 61 Andrews Road. Upon arrival, the deputies received information that two male suspects were in the vicinity of Vineyard Place.
Culberson reported observing the two inside a barn that was under renovation.
Authorities say the two suspects fled on foot as Culberson and Gray approached the barn.
The deputies gave chase, and following their pursuit, apprehended one suspect near Andrews Road.
The second suspect remains at large.
The homeowner identified a Remington Woodmaster 30-.06 rifle as the only missing item.
The apprehended suspect is a 16-year-old male.
He was charged with burglary and transported to the Clayton County RYDC.
