“This investigation is a continuation of the promise that we made to make the lives of drug dealers and gang members in Spalding County miserable. We warned them that we were going to come after them and that the days of their free reign in this county were over. Some of these offenders have affiliations with criminal street gangs such as the ghost face gangsters (sic), and the investigation of these ties may lead to more of those on this list being charged under the Georgia Criminal Street Gang Act. Narcotics distribution goes hand in hand with thefts and violent crime and these types of operations have a direct effect on those crimes, it’s not just about drug dealers and gang bangers,” Dix said. “We also know that this operation and these arrests alone will not stop the problem. There are others doing the same thing in different neighborhoods effecting the quality of life of the people who live there, and we will do all we can to stop them. The owners of the residences where the search warrants were executed, and drug sales took place, will be placed on notice regarding the illegal activity happening on their property. This will give them the opportunity to save their investment by evicting these offenders and if they are serious, help us clean up the neighborhoods where they own houses. If they choose not to, they may face seizure of their property if the activities continue. We have been fighting this fight to make Spalding County safer since I took office and we will continue with that promise. Just like we have been doing, we will keep coming for them.”
