Wednesday school start time delayed three hours due to inclement weather forecast

The Griffin-Spalding County School System has announced a delayed start time for Wednesday, Jan. 25.

“High winds and rain are in the forecast for our area tomorrow morning. Due to the recency of severe weather and the instability of debris from the previous storms we are exercising an abundance of caution and delaying our start time by three hours,” read a press release.

High school will begin at 10:40 a.m., elementary School will begin at 11:00 a.m., and middle school will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Students should be at their bus stops three hours later than normal. No students should be at bus stops before 9 a.m.

Central office staff, maintenance staff, school principals and morning custodians should report to work at 8:30 a.m. while all other morning employees should report at 9:30 a.m.
