STAFF REPORT :::
The Pike County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two suspects in connection with a Jan. 23 theft at Cadie’s Convenience Store located on Highway 19.
Officials say a store employee reported a bank bag was stolen from the store.
PCSO investigators say two suspects had worked together to distract the employee and steal the money, with one gaining the employee’s attention at the rear of the store while the second entered the store and stole the money.
Approximately $2,000 was allegedly stolen.
Austin Opry, age 26, and Jennifer Green, age 24, have been identified as the suspects in this case.
Authorities say a search warrant was executed at the suspects’ Pike County residence, resulting in the collection of evidence linking Opry and Green to the theft.
Additional evidence implicating the two suspects was collected at the scene, investigators say.
Opry and Green have been charged with felony theft by taking and are being held in the Pike County Jail.
