SHEILA A. MATHEWS :::
A 15-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with an early Tuesday morning homicide.
Griffin Police Department Uniform Patrol Officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of W. Tinsley Street at approximately 6 a.m. in reference to a domestic dispute.
Upon arrival at 115 W. Tinsley St. Apartment A, officers located the victim, 47-year-old Donald Cornelius Cameron, suffering from a stab wound.
Fire and emergency medical services personnel provided treatment but Cameron succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A juvenile suspect and witness were transported to GPD headquarters to be interviewed.
The suspect, an unidentified 15-year-old, has now been arrested for Cameron’s murder.
The juvenile suspect has been charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.
The GPD incident report cites the crime as a “willful killing – family,” but when asked if the juvenile suspect is related to Cameron, Chief Mike Yates said he was uncertain of that answer.

I can remember the screams at 6am. It was awful!!! With the police station being so close by, it seems to take forever for anyone to come. Praying for the families and everyone else affected by this and the juvenile who felt as if he had to grab a knife for protection. Lord, only you know what led up to this circumstances, and only you can shine light on the darkness they are feeling.
