STAFF REPORT :::
A Spalding County teenager, 17-year-old Cedravious Wilkerson, has been convicted of the Dec. 9, 2020, murder of 20-year-old Parrish Pierce.
Pierce’s body was discovered in the woods off the 17th tee box of the Griffin Golf Course in City Park.
The Griffin Police Department and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, where Parrish was confirmed deceased.
Investigators determined Wilkerson was the last person known to have been with the victim, and he was ultimately arrested and charged in the case.
After multiple delays due to COVID-19, a Spalding County jury heard the case against Wilkerson and returned guilty verdicts on April 29.
Wilkerson was convicted of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a pistol under the age of 18, theft by taking a firearm and violation of Georgia’s Street Gang and Terrorism Prevention Act.
Sentencing is scheduled for May 16, before Superior Court Judge Scott Ballard.
GPD Sgt. Adam Trammel was the lead investigator, and the case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorneys Kate Lenhard and Ashton Jordan.
“Gang violence devastates families across our community. I thank my team, law enforcement, and the jury for their work on this case,” said District Attorney Marie Broder. “We must continue to come together to fight gang violence and prevent gangs from extinguishing one more life.”
