SHEILA A. MATHEWS :::

A Griffin woman, 46-year-old Darlene Harden, is in custody facing charges in two shootings authorities are describing as road rage incidents.

According to Sheriff Darrell Dix, Harden was arrested Tuesday in connection with the Sunday morning shooting of Blake Jones.

That incident occurred at approximately 5 a.m. on Highway 19/41 in north Spalding County.

Jones, who was shot in the chest, survived the attack.

The suspect has also been charged in a previous incident in which shots were fired at another car, also on Highway 19/41.

Dix said he was uncertain if any shots struck the vehicle involved in the June 14 incident.

Search warrants have been executed and numerous charges are anticipated.

“I know there’s going to be several (charges). There’s going to be a lot of them,” Dix said.

Dix also confirmed that investigators from Clayton County are also seeking to determine if the female Spalding County suspect is connected to a similar shooting incident in which a male motorist was shot in the head.

He stressed that the Harden has not been charged in the Clayton County incident.

Harden was on bond in connection with a previous aggravated assault in the city of Griffin.

    Very unethical reporting to release the victims name without consent or even consideration to the family but yet not release the suspects name. You can type out any excuse you want – its wrong. I pray you don’t make a single penny off this story and any other story you decide is worth more than the safety of someones life. I pray your family never has to experience the nightmare of a situation like this and have any sliver of peace you may have had taken away from you.
