Griffin Power warns customers of fraud attempt

Griffin Power officials have been informed of the return of a recent fraud attempt against Griffin Power customers.
In this attempt, commercial customers are called or visited by an individual claiming to be with Griffin Power. The customer is then informed that they are behind on their bill and have to pay at that moment or else service will be disconnected.
Griffin Power does not call customers regarding overdue accounts. Additionally, Griffin Power does not request or accept cash payment on site. While these fraud attempts have been limited to commercial customers, residential customers should also take notice.
If a customer is contacted by someone asking for payment, contact Griffin Police Investigator Tony Thomason at 770-229-6452.
